Interview with Khoury Apps

What’s your name and where do you come from? My name is Hasseb-Harry Khoury, everyone calls me Harry. I am from Australia

How did you spot a space in the market for your product or service? We see types of apps that we believe could be better, either in design or function, and we go ahead and do it!

How long did you think about your business before bringing it to life? Honestly, not long at all. Pretty much just dived headfirst in.

How did you raise the funds to start your business? Most of the equipment I needed to start, I already owned. All you need is a mac computer and a developer licence, not much else was needed to start.

How do you stay informed – networking, newspapers, social media? I follow a few apple developer blogs. Apple themselves have a dedicated page to inform developers of changes to the App Store and other relevant info. I read a lot of books too, reading is essential!

Tell us about one of your business low-points and what you learnt from it I would say the launch of our first app. We did not receive a great number of downloads, and our revenue for that first month was around $2. What we learnt is that we needed to know the target market in depth, and actually have a business model, one that actually can work
